Thinking this is a scam, even though the radio station looks legit?
Hi, everyone! I get so many emails like this, but this one stopped me for a moment. The radio station and even the name “Tim” looks legit, but the email is coming from “Lindsay” which seems like a red flag. And the content of the email itself feels very AI/scammy to me.
I’ve pasted the email below. Thoughts?
Thank you!!

to me
Hi Becca,
I’m Tim from Petersfield’s Shine Radio. While exploring your wonderful book, ROAD TRIP RETURN, I couldn’t help but feel it’s exactly the kind of story our listeners truly connect with.
As Children’s Day approaches, we’re putting together a special feature celebrating stories that inspire young minds, and your work is a natural fit. There’s something truly special about ROAD TRIP RETURN the way it brings comfort, undestanding, and reassurance to young readers makes it especially meaningful for children and families.
We host a program where we bring authors on-air for relaxed, engaging conversations, and we’d love to invite you to join us for a feature interview. It’s an easygoing chat, more like sharing stories than a formal interview.
Our audience of families, parents, educators, and young listeners especially enjoy hearing:
The inspiration behind ROAD TRIP RETURN
Your journey as a children’s author
How storytelling helps children feel safe, informed, and confident in new experiences
We record our sessions in a comfortable, informal setting, with the goal of connecting your work to a wider community that values meaningful and supportive storytelling.
Would you be available sometime soon for a 30-minute recording? We’re flexible with timing and happy to work around your schedule.
Best regards,
Tim
