Honest Novel Marketing Conference Testimony
For those of you who are on the fence about the conference, I would like to give my three greatest takeaways.
1) Ignore all your unread, unimportant emails that you don’t ever need to (or even want to) open. I have turned off my notifications, and I’m not sure it’s made me any more productive because I’ve also added more apps since then… not a good idea, but it did make me realize the red bubble is not the most evil thing in the world, and that in fact, you can get rid of it.
2) I now have a critique group! It’s the highlight of my week. Fantastic
3) Also, I wrote a reader magnet. Still haven’t finished revising it, but I’ve been TRYING to write one for about a year and never managed to even finish a draft, so it was definitely helpful.
BONUS: I also realized how lucky I was to have a Timothy/Timothies and had some really good tacos. And got some font nerd questions out of the way.
Overall, it’s not a magic pill to get all your goals done, but it can be very inspirational and you can meet some AMAZING people there. Highly recommend
